Second Harvest Food Bank of San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties (SHFB) depends on its volunteers to bring food to the San Joaquin Valley and beyond. Volunteering is rewarding, productive, and easy. There are opportunities to help with special events or to volunteer on a regular basis. We also have volunteer activities for groups as well as individuals, both short and long term.

Recurring Volunteer

Our recurring volunteers come in often and generally set a schedule for themselves within our normal volunteer hours. We allow you the flexibility to volunteer as little or as much as you would like and we do celebrate your volunteer success each year.

To become a recurring volunteer with Second Harvest Food Bank please come into the SHFB offices and fill out our Volunteer Information Form and get a tour of the facility. For more information on individual volunteer opportunities, please contact Jessica Vaughan at 209-239-2091 or jvaughan@secondharvest.org.

One Time or Short Term Volunteer

If you are wanting to volunteer for a short period of time or to fulfill hours for school or job requirements, we would love to help you out. Please call or come into the office where we will have the Volunteer Information form waiting for you. We do ask that you bring all necessary paperwork with you on your first volunteer day to help expedite the process. Please contact our volunteer coordinator Jessica Vaughan at 209-239-2091 or jvaughan@secondharvest.org to discuss your options.
